Certificate I in English Proficiency 40620SA (18 weeks)
Students who successfully complete this training will be able to use the English language to satisfy basic survival needs in the community and workplace in a limited range of familiar and routine situations.
Certificate II in English Proficiency 40621SA (18 weeks)
Students who successfully complete this training will be able to use the English language to satisfy essential social and workplace needs in a range of familiar and predictable situations. They will be able to participate in other preparatory courses, including broad-based general education and entry level workplace training.
Certificate III in English Proficiency 40622SA (18 weeks)
Students who successfully complete this training will have acquired English language skills which will offer them a range of further study and career opportunities.
Certificate IV in English Proficiency 40623SA (18 weeks)
A genuine focus is placed on English needed for business and academic purposes. Overseas educated students will be in a position to seek employment in their trade or profession at a level commensurate with their previous employment or training, while those aiming to do further tertiary level studies will have the necessary English language skills and a pathway to do so.
Course Outlines
Certificate I, II, III and IV: 20 hours face to face per week over 18 weeks (plus 3 weeks break and 1 week assessment finalisation).
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for the Certificates. By way of a pre-commencement interview a student's English language proficiency is assessed after which they are placed into the appropriate level certificate.
